UPSCALE, a sponsor of AICR Paris for several years, contributed to the 27th David Campbell Trophy
which took place on 9th December 2018 at the Shangri-La Paris Hotel.

This year, 10 professional candidates, from the major hotels in Paris and its region, and 26 students, from nationwide hotel schools, were competing for the title of Best Receptionist Paris 2018 and Best Junior Receptionist 2018 respectively.
The candidates had to go through the following tests:
- For the pre-selection phase: submit a 90-second video in French and English
- For the selection phase: submit a 4-minute video in English presenting a role play
The organisation committee, the jury and actors
The competition final took place on 9th December in the magnificent reception hall of the Shangri-La Paris. Candidates had to perform a 15-minute role play which featured two professional situations (in French and English), followed by a short interview with the jury.
As part of the competition-jury for professional candidates, Pascal played a guest in the role play and Séverin sat with the jury. Both would like to congratulate all participants, professionals and students, for their performance.

The event ended with a cocktail reception which was held for the members of the Committee, the Jury, Hoteliers, Sponsors, supporters, AICR Friends & former winners as well as all the competitors.
This year’s laureates are:
- Estelle Niveau, receptionist at Le Meurice Hotel (Dorchester Collection), Best Receptionist Paris 2018. She will take part in the Receptionist of the Year Competition which will happen during the 2019 AICR Congress in London from 23rd to 27th January, 2019.
- Eugénie Ledent, a BTS student at the Périgord Hotel School (CCI Dordogne), Best Junior Receptionist 2018. Together with Pierre Mahon, a student at the Alexandre Dumas Hotel School, Illkirch-Graffenstaden, who ended 2nd best of the Junior trophy, she will take part in the pre-selection tests of the WorldSkills competition, which will also take place in January 2019.
